Azerbaijan State Agricultural Museum was organized in 1924. In those days the museum consisted of agriculture and industry departments. Science-education, agriculture and plant protection; cattle-breeding, amelioration; forestry, agricultural machine and equipments; hunting and industrial handicraft departments belonged to Agricultural department, geologial prospecting, industry mining plant, oil, technical production, mechanisms, devices, machines, The Caspian Sea and The Fishing industry belonged to Department of Industry.

In 1925 The laboratory of museum had already continued its activity  as a scientific management had researched as the aim of possible recycling of waste productions and learming of valuable agricultural crop vcıricties. In 1925 the museum which played an important role of Cultural life in Republic Made Azerbaijani pavilion in Paris International Exhibition and represented our country.

According to regulations it was Scientific-notification cultural and Educational and, Scientific-research steers, the museum used to have chemistry and photography laboratories, national importance workshop-laboratory a large library. In 1936-1938 it was opened Ganja, Sheki, Nakhchivan, Guba and Lankaran branches.

From the first day the museum used to have a wide green territory. In this green territory visitors were acquainted visually with the different field of agriculture and the plants were grown in Azerbaijan and the method of cultivation From the first time the museum paid attention to enlighten and notification and for this purpose they were often organized exhibitions and lectures. It foundation consists of photo negatives, welfare and ethnography samples, drawings and applied art samples. Exposition of museum plays an important role notification of agriculture. It is constantly renewed and rich of new materials which reflect the current status of agriculture.

The field activity of museum is very wide. There are organized exhibitions the history of people living in our republic, to introduce agricultural custom and traditions widely and TV programs. National and state holidays, specials memorial days are held in different celebrations.  There was collected wide information about all the fields of agriculture and has been made the  Encyclopedia of Agriculture. The museum is member of  ICOM Since 2014.

At the moment this scientific and cultural center is being existed  "Veterinary Camp". In this address the museum was reopened in the 28th of December in 2015 with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. I. Aliyev, the Minister of agriculture Haydar Asadov and other honorary guests.

The museum covers 600m² territory and suitable for modern standards. The history of agriculture and including nowadays all the fields are reflected in the fitting for the new art design. Excursion and exposure were organized suitable for requirement of nowadays. In the Hall of exposure was created "info-center" and created assures of the museum information system. The interactive information system will accessible through web portal of museum to community vast country and for foreign users.

The visitors know closely about The Potential of Azerbaijan Agriculture, its history and different fields by the help of "information centre". The Information system of museum consists of 4 modules: "H. Aliyev and Azerbaijan Agriculture", ''State Agricultural museum", "Agricultural Signposts", "The Fields of Agriculture''. The wide information has been collected in each module according to the belonging fields.
